Locate Before Route transforms wireless 911 call routing with dramatic reduction in misrouted calls

Locate Before Route has a transformative impact on 911 call routing. Traditional systems rely on cell tower locations, which can lead to delays when calls are misrouted to the wrong public safety answering point (PSAP). Locate Before Route utilizes precise location data from a caller’s wireless handset, ensuring calls are sent to the correct PSAP from the start.

Why does this matter? Every second counts in emergencies. The FCC estimates that location-based routing can reduce call transfers by 85%, helping emergency teams respond faster and save lives.   • November 13, 2024: Nationwide wireless carriers (calling only)

  • May 13, 2026: Non-nationwide wireless carriers (real-time text) and nationwide wireless carriers (real-time text)
