Alternate Routing

Written by Intrado | Jul 23, 2024 8:25:02 PM
A method by which 9‐1‐1 calls are routed to a designated alternate location if all IEN or wireless lines to the primary PSAP are busy, or the primary PSAP is closed for a period of time. A second or subsequent choice path between two points usually consists of two or more trunk groups in tandem. This term (or alternate routing) is also used as a verb
to define the act of selecting an alternate route.
