Veterans Day is a time to honor the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who served, inspiring us all with their commitment to something greater than themselves.
“At Intrado, we are proud to support many first responders who, like our veterans, dedicate their lives to protecting and service our communities. Their unwavering commitment to public safety and emergency response is a testament to the same spirit of service and sacrifice that we honor today.
On a personal note, Veterans Day holds a special place in my heart. I come from a family of veterans who have served in our military for generations. This day is a poignant reminder of their service and the values they instilled in me.” – Matt Carter, Intrado CEO
Every day, we work alongside veterans and first responders, supporting their mission through innovative technology solutions that empower them in the field. The values veterans bring to our team drive us to uphold their legacy of service in everything we do.
In honor of Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, here are some stories worth sharing from our own veterans here at Intrado:
Adam Belcher
For Adam Belcher, Veterans Day holds deep meaning as he represents the 8th generation in his family to serve in the military. His commitment to service extends to his family, with his nephew and youngest son joining the ranks, and November 11 is particularly special as it’s also his grandson’s birthday. Adam’s family has a strong tradition of public service, with relatives in law enforcement and firefighting. After serving in the military, Adam became a 911 engineer for a sheriff's office before joining Intrado, where he passionately supports emergency services.
Despite dropping out of high school, Adam returned to school in 2013 to set a positive example for his children, ultimately earning degrees in network administration, mobile app development, business, and a Master’s in cybersecurity. His journey reflects a lifelong dedication to protecting others and inspiring his family through service and education.
Gemma Robinson
Gemma Robinson served in the USAF as a Security Police Law Enforcement Specialist. After training at Lackland AFB, she was stationed at Vandenberg AFB, where she witnessed historic missile launches, including the Titan IV. She met key military figures like Gen. John T. Chain, who carried nuclear codes, and Gen. Arlan Jameson, who later played a role in arms reduction treaties. Gemma also encountered a top-secret “Rail Garrison” project involving nuclear weapons on trains. During Desert Storm, as a Desk Sergeant, she was classified as critical staff, coordinating resources for personnel heading to Saudi Arabia. Later, as part of the Air Force Reserve, she supported the Mather Air Show in 1992, assisting with emergency response during the Landers Earthquake.
Curry Russell
On September 11, 2001, Curry Russell’s life changed when he watched the second plane hit the South Tower. Within a month, he was deployed, building the first tent city to support special operations and defend American freedoms. After two years of military service, he transitioned to a new mission in public safety, deploying 911 services with Positron. Joining Intrado felt like coming full circle, allowing him to continue saving lives through technology. Through deployments and connections worldwide, Curry found fulfillment in a lifelong purpose of supporting others, both in uniform and in public safety technology
To all veterans and first responders – thank you for your service, strength, and your sacrifice. Today and every day, we are deeply grateful for you!
