Guiding PSAPs Through Their Cloud Evolution

As someone who's been navigating the digital transformation landscape for over 20 years, I can comfortably say that the benefits of cloud technology are well understood. Cloud adoption offers agility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness by eliminating upfront costs. However, I've seen too many vendors push for an overnight leap into cloud-native solutions without providing a clear, smooth path for transition.

At Intrado, we believe in supporting our customers every step of the way. Our flagship product, Intrado VIPER, has long been a trusted name in on-premises call handling. Now, we're excited to announce the upcoming launch of Intrado LifeHub, our cloud-native call handling platform, which will soon be available in limited release. Meanwhile, VaaS (VIPER as a Service), our private-hosted call handling solution, has just completed California's rigorous certification process, proving its readiness for prime time.

Intrado is unique in offering on-premises, private-hosted, and cloud-native call-handling solutions. This flexibility allows us to meet PSAPs wherever they are on their cloud journey. Recognizing that each organization has its own timeline for public cloud adoption, we ensure a seamless transition without sacrificing feature parity.

Feature Parity with Seamless Transition

According to the National 911 Profile Database and the National 911 Annual Report, about 36% of states still rely on Centralized Automatic Message Accounting (CAMA) trunks or are in the process of transitioning to IP-compatible ESInet systems. In this diverse environment, it is crucial for states not yet fully IP-compatible to find hybrid call-handling solutions that support both CAMA and IP systems.

Intrado elevates hybrid solutions to the next level. Our systems enable alternate routing between IP-based PSAPs and legacy CAMA systems, ensuring that PSAPs are not solely dependent on ESInet for redundancy in between PSAPs. This approach offers PSAPs a comprehensive solution that is natively integrated into our call-handling platforms, providing robust support for hybrid environments. Additionally, it enables strategic redundancy and load-sharing across diverse PSAP systems, enhancing overall efficiency and reliability.

The benefits of cloud adoption are undeniable, but transitioning to the cloud shouldn't mean sacrificing existing features. Intrado offers a smooth and secure path to cloud integration, allowing you to enjoy the latest technology while maintaining the reliability of your current systems.

From High Availability to Local Survivability: Ensuring Continuity & Cyber Resilience

In the realm of mission-critical applications and infrastructure, availability is paramount. While all vendors strive to ensure zero downtime for their hosted solutions, the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyberattacks mean outages are often beyond our control. It's no longer a matter of if such disruptions will occur, but when.

That's why it's crucial to focus not just on high availability, which we all expect, but also on local survivability. We understand the importance of keeping operations running, even in the face of cyber threats or large-scale disasters like wildfires, floods, and hurricanes. Whether your system is on-premises, cloud-hosted, or dealing with connectivity issues, our solutions are designed to be resilient.

Our approach empowers call takers to continue their vital work without interruption during outages. Critical information and call logs are stored locally, ensuring they're safe and accessible. Once connectivity is restored, everything syncs back seamlessly, providing robust operations continuity. This capability is especially critical during cloud migration, where maintaining smooth operations is paramount.

In a world where cyber threats are a given, having a solution that offers both high availability and local survivability is not just nice to have—it's essential. At Intrado, we're here to make sure you stay up and running, no matter what comes your way.
